Reds vs. White Sox line, prediction: High-scoring game in Cincy

MLB’s top offense, the Cincinnati Reds, has been at its best at home and the lineup will be difficult for the White Sox on Tuesday.

The Reds are generating 7.7 runs per game at home compared to 2.9 runs per game when away from Cincinnati, belting 2.2 home runs per game with a .290 batting average at home. The White Sox will look to Dylan Cease to continue his good start as he has posted a 2.96 ERA this season and given up two runs or fewer in each of his last four starts.

The White Sox are second in MLB in runs per game on the road with 5.5, and are facing starter Jeff Hoffman, who has a lifetime 6.11 ERA, but that is heavily inflated by him playing three seasons in Colorado, posting a 7.58 ERA with 1.8 home runs surrendered per nine innings.

With both teams’ bullpens ranking in the bottom half of league in ERA and the over being 19-7-1 in Reds games this season, the trend of high-scoring games in Cincinnati will continue.

The Play: White Sox vs. Reds, Over 9.5 runs.
