A documentary about the aftermath of Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl halftime show is reportedly in the works by the same production company that created Framing Britney Spears.

Jackson, 54, was crucified after Timberlake, 40, exposed her breast at the close of their 2004 performance, and now the scandal will be the center of a new documentary from Left/Right TV, the same production company that worked on the recently released Spears doc, according to Page Six.

‘It’s going to be all about the fallout and the suits who f**ked over Janet [at] Viacom,’ a source told Page Six of the upcoming project.

‘They’re reaching out to everyone who was involved: dancers, stylists, directors. Everyone.’

Interest in the subject was piqued after Timberlake apologized to both Spears and Jackson following the release of the New York Times documentary Framing Britney Spears, which discussed his relationship with the Toxic hitmaker.

For now, it’s uncertain whether or not Jackson or Timberlake will appear in the documentary. Sources say it’s unlikely the Rhythm Nation hit-maker will support the project as she is busy working on another documentary about her own life. 

Fans recently turned on Timberlake over the way he handled his split with Spears following the release of the NYT doc Framing Britney Spears.

The couple dated from 1999 to 2002 after meeting on The Mickey Mouse Club, but rumors emerged she had cheated on him soon after they split.

His career soared. Albums and songs were promoted under the narrative that Spears broke his heart. In the music video for his 2002 hit Cry Me A River, he even used a Britney lookalike. Britney was vilified for their break-up.

Jackson was also slammed following the end of her performance with Timberlake, which ended with him tearing off her costume to expose her breast.

She was wearing a nipple cover but looked visibly shocked by what he’d done and the audience was irate.

In a statement afterwards, MTV and Viacom said it was not part of the planned show.

Timberlake and Jackson called it a ‘wardrobe malfunction’.

Jackson’s career suffered afterwards and she was blacklisted by Viacom. She was banned from going to the Grammy’s too.

Timberlake’s soared and he was even invited back to perform again in 2018.

In the wake of the recent backlash following the release of Framing Britney Spears, Timberlake released an apology to both of the women.
