Watermelon truck crashes on NJ Turnpike, killing two

Two people died in an accident on the New Jersey Turnpike Thursday night, according to a local report.

A truck carrying watermelons crashed into a bridge in the northbound lane around mile marker 60 in a “serious” accident, state police said.

Two people were killed, according to ABC 7.

The accident occurred around 9:45 pm on the NJ turnpike resulting in two deaths.

The crash, which happened around 9:45 p.m., left watermelons strewn all over the turnpike, officials said.

No charges were filed for the crash on Thursday night.
