Sheila E. commemorates Prince’s death by posting the wrong photo

Sheila E. saluted a fake Prince.

The singer commemorated the 5th anniversary of Prince’s death on Wednesday by posting several photos of the pop legend. She shared one snap of Prince eating, and recalled how he disliked “eating in front of people.”

“But u could throw down when u wanted [to],” she wrote, adding that he used to cook eggs for her, and “I made the pancakes.”

Only problem was that the photo wasn’t of Prince, but rather a 2017 picture of singer Mandy Romao in Miami, Fla., according to Instagram.

Several of the musician’s followers called her out, asking: “How are you not going to know your own friend… that’s not Prince.”

Sheila E. eventually acknowledged the blunder and updated her caption. “Everyone is trippin. Yes I know about the picture. But my words are true,” she wrote.

Sources who were close to Prince at the time of his death told us people in his circle are “exhausted” by Sheila’s antics. Multiple people — including members of his last band — have accused her of cashing in on his legacy.

“After Prince died, it seems like everything she does is focused around Prince or his legacy — and it’s strange, because we never saw her at Paisley Park,” Prince’s NPG sax player, Adrian Crutchfield, told us last year.

Prince’s former paramour — and “Purple Rain” co-star — Apollonia has also spoken out about Sheila, describing her as “desperate to be relevant.”

“Prince refused to acknowledge you for five years before his death because of your lies… He sent you legal letters as you were slandering him,” she said when Sheila E. released a tribute song, “Lemon Cake,” last year.

Sheila E. has not addressed her critics and did not comment for this story. But she apparently received a sign from the “When Doves Cry” singer on the anniversary of his death.

“April 21, and here’s a dove right here… just came to see me,” she said in a video by her pool with a dove and her dog.

“Sometimes it snows in April… Sometimes a Mourning Dove comes to visit on April 21st,” she wrote.
