Queen Elizabeth's holiday includes 'washing dishes' – 'she likes to live ordinary life'

One place she really gets to enjoy this lifestyle is at Balmoral Castle, in Scotland.

Each summer Her Majesty journeys to the Aberdeenshire location to relax and unwind, often visited by younger members of the family during her stay.

Yet, while Balmoral itself is a magnificent estate, with 50,000 acres of surrounding land, it seems opulence is not necessarily the Queen’s holiday pursuit.

According to Paul Burrell, Former Footman to HM Queen Elizabeth II, there is nothing the Queen likes more than typical day-to-day activities – including household chores.
