Jack Osbourne reached 18 years of sobriety on Wednesday, which he commemorated with an Instagram post.
The 35-year-old reality television personality’s post showed a screenshot from the 12 Steps Companion app that showed the actual length of his time without substance abuse.
The MTV star’s Instagram post comes just days after his sister Kelly publicly admitted that she had fallen off the wagon in a video that was shared to her Instagram Story.

The former Dancing With The Stars contestant wrote a brief message in the post’s caption that began: ‘It’s not that it get easier or harder, It’s just that it’s life on life’s terms.’
He also expressed that recovery from substance abuse was manageable, writing that ‘If anyone is trying to get sober, know that it possible if you are willing to do the work.’
Osbourne concluded his message by noting that he genuinely appreciated the help of everyone who was involved in his recovery process.
‘Sending lots of love to my people who have been on this journey with me. #sobersbetter,’ he wrote.

The Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour star began experimenting with drugs and alcohol at an early age in an effort to combat his depression.
In 2003, he was admitted to a child psychiatric ward after developing an addiction to OxyContin, which he eventually overcame.
Osbourne’s substance abuse only grew worse after his mother was diagnosed with colon cancer, and he attempted to take his own life after receiving the news.
After going through several years of recovery, the reality television star eventually found himself in a good place and has maintained his sobriety ever since.
During a recent interview with Variety, he spoke about how he came to learn about how staying clean is a continual process after a lengthy period of time.

He recalled, ‘I found after the first year, you’re like, “Oh, OK. So I guess I’ve just got to do that over again.” And then when you get to two years, you’re like, “All right, I guess I’ve got to do these two years over again to get to four years.”‘
Osbourne went on to note that, for him, achieving sobriety meant changing his mindset in a way that allowed for both assistance and accountability.
‘If you want it, there’s a way to achieve it. It’s kind of like shut your mouth and be willing to take direction. It’s that honesty and open-mindedness, and willingness, to do whatever it takes,’ he said.
He concluded by expressing that he was still willing to get help to maintain his state of living clean and that he was still attending meetings to keep himself in check.
‘Whatever I did has continued to work, because I continue to do it. It’s never over. There were times, when I had 10 years sober, and I was raising my hand as a newcomer at a different 12-step recovery group,’ he said.

The 36-year-old reality television figure noted in her video that she was ‘not proud’ about falling off the wagon but expressed that she was ‘back on track.’
She promised to give her fans further information, as she noted that she ‘will be doing a podcast this week where I tell everybody about what’s going on and what happened.’
Kelly finished by remarking: ‘I just wanted to tell you guys the truth, ’cause I never, ever want to lie to you…Thank you so much for your support and your love, and you’ll be hearing from me soon.’
