PS5 stock UK: Argos and GAME to end PlayStation 5 April restock shortage

This week will see the re-opening of several stores in the UK, but that doesn’t mean digital stores won’t be restocking PS5 consoles in the coming weeks.

Fans disappointed by the lack of stock options in April will be pleased to hear that several drops are reportedly coming our way.

The latest news from leading Stock Tracker accounts suggests both Argos and Game could offer PS5 stock in the coming days, unless there have been major disruptions to the supply lines.

If the recent rumours do prove correct, gamers might be waiting until April 15 to get their chance to buy a next-gen gaming machine.

As always, there could be a few surprise stock drops before this happens, and retailers can always change schedules, delaying plans.

For now, Thursday, April 15, could be the next PS5 restock release for gamers in the UK. However, it should also be noted that other sources, including PS5 UK Stock Alert on Twitter, suggest that Argos and Game might not get more PlayStation 5 stock until closer to May 2021.

This week, many retailers will be focusing on the UK re-opening of stores, although this won’t include offering PlayStation 5 consoles in-store.

With the UK’s lockdown finally coming to an end, most retailers are opening their doors for the first time this year.

From tomorrow we can all go shopping again and one company that has confirmed the grand reopening of 249 stores is Currys who is marking the occasion with a massive sale.

This XXL Clearance event gets underway on Monday, April 12 with Currys saying that it will be one of its biggest ever. In fact, some products will see a discount of up to 70 per cent off their original price.

This isn’t expected to include next-gen consoles, but there is always room for other consoles, including PS4, Xbox One and PCs.

Speaking about the sale, Chief Operating Officer, Mark Allsop said: “We are thrilled to be reopening the doors of our stores and welcoming people back carefully and safely to protect everyone, from customers to colleagues.

“Since the unveiling of the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown, our teams have been working tirelessly to ensure we have all the necessary safety and hygiene protocols in place ahead of reopening.

“Alongside this we wanted to celebrate our doors being open once again by offering everyone the chance to get their hands on some amazing technology either online or instore at amazing prices with our XXL Clearance. We are excited to offer up to 70% off some products, with extra savings to be made online.”

Knowing that more PlayStation stock is coming is important, but console hunters should also know the best ways to get stock from each platform.

Here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.

AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.

GAME: Game is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase.

More news regarding this week’s PS5 stock drops will be shared in the coming days.
