Call of Duty Warzone new Map release date news includes big Season 3 surprise

A flurry of new leaks have provided a clear look at the new Warzone map that will be replacing Verdansk during the start of Season 3.

Older reports suggested that the familiar surroundings of Downtown, Lumber and Quarry would be wiped away in an explosion, with players being transported to a new location.

The coming weeks are expected to include some kind of limited time, which will see Verdans slowly overwhelmed by the Zombie plague currently contained at TV Station.

But the latest map leaks for Warzone Season 3 suggest something different might be in the works that don’t include a big move to the Ural Mountains.

The big Call of Duty news here is that the current Verdansk is going to evolve but not be replaced like first thought.

Instead, Points of Interest and the general looks of Verdansk will change, meaning new places to explore in a different time period.

The new Verdansk map will reportedly be set in the 80s and will therefore fit better with the current Black Ops: Cold War narrative.

From what has been shared so far, locations like the Stadium will change into something more akin to a construction site, while a new Mineshaft area will be introduced.

Some locations will be revamped with POIs from the Black Ops franchises, although it’s unclear if other changes are being planned.

If players are going to be playing on a map set in the 80s, does that mean some weapons from Modern Warfare might be removed?

That’s something we’re probably not going to learn more about until we get closer to the Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 release date.

And based on the latest reports, we won’t be waiting that long to find out what’s coming next to PS4, Xbox and PC platforms.

The new Warzone map will reportedly release on April 22, leaving just a little over two full weeks until things kick-off.

And that could mean that other big events tied to the nuclear weapons found across Verdansk might also come into play very soon.

Earlier leaks suggested that Verdansk would be replaced completely and would not be available to play after the start of Season 3.

Several locations were leaked as part of this idea, but it appears that the big changes for Season 3 won’t be quite as severe as first thought.

Along with the new map updates, Warzone Season 3 is also expected to offer a new range of weapons, as well as the next Battle Pass.

This is expected to cost the amount as Season 2’s Battle Pass and will come with several cosmetic items and free COD points.

And with months to run until the next Call of Duty game is released, the next few seasons are expected to be themed around the Black Ops Cold War franchise.
