Despite all ministers staying away from GMB, there was one person in particular that Piers wanted to talk to – Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
And low and behold, not long before he stood down from his post on the ITV flagship news program, Mr Johnson finally agreed to an interview, which now won’t happen.
Piers couldn’t quite believe his (bad) luck, saying: “Ironically, Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the man who ducked GMB for the past four years and even ran and hid in a fridge to avoid answering our questions, had finally agreed to an interview with me at No 10 next month.
“That it won’t now happen is my only regret about leaving.”
