Smyths PS5 UK stock April update releasing before Game and Amazon PlayStation 5 restocks

UK PS5 stock hunters have been warned that Smyths Toys could be the next major retailer to get a shipment of next-gen consoles.

News shared earlier this week suggests that Smyths will be one of the next retailers to offer the chance to buy a PlayStation 5, following months of frustrations.

The good news is that Smyths is expected to be followed by Game and Amazon, who are reportedly receiving more stock in April.

But while there’s going to be plenty of chances at buying a PS5 console this month, there won’t be enough to keep up with demand.

Stock tracker accounts suggest that the next Smyths PS5 stock will only offer limited numbers of consoles.

This will mean that gamers will only have a slim chance at purchasing a PS5 this week, and they will need a lot of luck on their side.

From previous stock updates, Smyths could choose to release its latest batch on April 2, 2021.

Smyths has also favoured evening releases, but this remains an educated guess until we have more concrete news.

The Smyths stock is expected to drop between April 1 and April 7, and is unlikely to arrive during the weekend.

Meanwhile, other retailers like Game and Amazon UK are expected to restock the PlayStation 5 several times in April.

Unfortunately for us, we don’t know when this will be happening, and we don’t have a guaranteed time to check for it.

The latest information has been shared PS5 Instant on Twitter, which provided this update for April:

Knowing that more PlayStation stock is coming is important, but console hunters should also know the best ways to get stock from each platform.

Here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.

AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.

GAME: Game is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase.

Early morning drops are also widespread, and gamers can keep an eye out for the latest news using stock tracker accounts and services.
