Lorraine Kelly says she ‘could have cried’ over mass gathering snaps 'People, be sensible'

Lorraine Kelly has urged people to be “sensible” as coronavirus restrictions begin to lift in the UK. The television presenter made her comments after seeing large crowds of people heading to parks, beaches, and beauty spots to make the most of the unseasonably warm weather.

This week saw temperatures reach 24 degrees in London and other parts of the country, marking the hottest March day in over 50 years.

People in England are now allowed to meet in groups of six people or two families outdoors, so it comes as no surprise to see them heading out to enjoy the sunshine.

However, Dr Hilary warned that visiting crowded areas could lead to infection rates rising again.

He said scenes of mass gatherings made him “despair”.

Michelle confirmed that she, as well as her husband and two young children, had all tested positive at the weekend.

They learnt the news after taking a routine Covid test.

“I was thinking first of all, ‘Oh my goodness, the vaccine didn’t work’ but that was the wrong response.

“The nurse said I did a really good job in getting the vaccine.
