It looks set to be one of the stories of the summer – will this be the window where Harry Kane forces a move away from Tottenham Hotspur?
The England captain, who is set to lead the line in the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Poland at Wembley tonight, is yet to win a trophy despite more than seven years in the first team and, with three years left on his contract as he turns 28 this summer, Kane will be considering his future at the club.
With pundits Roy Keane, Ashley Cole and Chris Sutton all having had their say decisively in one direction – leave – Sportsmail’s reporters now give their verdict on Kane’s future.

What is there to stay for?
Will Harry Kane leave Tottenham? No. Daniel Levy will be a nightmare for Kane’s suitors.
Way north of £120m is said to be the starting figure. While Kane’s ability is unquestionable, he’ll be 28 by this summer.
Clubs interested may be put off by the prospect of paying that much for a player whose resale value will depreciate, particularly when younger models Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland could be available.

Of course, the financial impact of Covid will also have a bearing on whether Kane can realistically leave.
Where should he go? Manchester City appears the perfect fit.
They need a successor to Sergio Aguero’s throne and Kane would guarantee goals. But would Levy sell to a domestic rival?

Because Spurs have a manager who has become a serial failure and only wants to blame his players for his own failings and tactical negativity.
Spurs could do the wise thing and jettison Jose Mourinho this summer, then bring in Brendan Rodgers, giving the team a method and ambition, restoring a little of what Mauricio Pochettino brought.

But who knows? It’s risky to bank on that. Daniel Levy seems very attached to Mourinho.
Where should he go? If he had the choice, Manchester City, a side with the method and ambition that Spurs lack and one which could actually give Kane the chance to win serious silverware quickly.
He will be 28 at the start of next season. He does not have all the time in the world.

Should Harry Kane leave Tottenham? Only Harry Kane truly knows what he wants from his career. It doesn’t have to be defined by medals.
He plays for one of the world’s great clubs in one of the world’s great venues. He has many years ahead and the grass isn’t always greener as Eden Hazard is the latest player to discover. Kane, however, does have the cut of a man checking his options.
He is 27 and already guaranteed legendary status at Tottenham, where the team is at the end of its cycle.

He is ambitious and this summer does feel like a perfect time for him to find a new challenge and join a team operating at the very top of world football.
Will Harry Kane leave Tottenham? Escaping from the clutches of Daniel Levy can be notoriously difficult. Sometimes it takes years of effort. Sometimes you have to play dirty.
Then, you need a willing buyer at that price. Levy will demand a huge fee if he is to sell an elite centre forward in the prime of his career with three more years on his contract.
There is a very short list of clubs it is worth leaving Spurs for and the post-pandemic market reduces the number because Barcelona and Real Madrid are crippled with debts.
Where should he go? Manchester City – if they are interested.
They are the strongest squad in English football with a brilliant, innovative coach sure to maximise his talent, and big plans for world domination.
They want a centre forward to replace Sergio Aguero and it’s easy to envisage Kane as a focal point in City’s team but they might prefer a younger model, such as Haaland or Mbappe.

Should Harry Kane leave Tottenham? If he wants a greater chance of playing in the Champions League every season and winning trophies, yes.
If cementing his place as a Spurs legend by becoming their all-time top scorer is his priority, then no.
Will Harry Kane leave Tottenham? There are a lot of clubs in the market for a striker this summer: Haaland. So Kane will surely come into their thinking if they lose out on the Norwegian.
However, I’m leaning towards no because of the huge sum that would be required to make Spurs even consider selling Kane with three years left on his contract.
With Kane turning 28 this summer, that amount might not make financial sense for a lot of clubs, especially in the current climate.
Where should he go? I have always thought a move to Manchester City ticked all the boxes for Kane, though whether that remains a possibility will depend on whether they get Haaland, as they are determined to do.
If they don’t, firstly they are one of the few clubs who could afford Kane and are looking to strengthen up front.
Kane would be ready to go, in his prime and, unlike some clubs, City do not need to worry about sell-on value of signings.
City will guarantee Kane trophies and the Champions League and keep him in the Premier League, meaning beating Alan Shearer’s record to become the all-time top scorer can remain a target.
The only down side would be that he would leave Spurs before beating Jimmy Greaves’ club record of 266 goals.
If Kane departs, his destination could depend on where Erling Haaland ends up if he leaves

Should Harry Kane leave Tottenham? If he stays, he’ll become the club’s record scorer and arguably greatest ever player. But he is simply too ambitious for trophies to be satisfied with that.
He deserves to be playing in title deciders and big European knockout games every year, and should go.
Will Harry Kane leave Tottenham? Daniel Levy won’t make it easy, he’ll want a huge price to compensate for loss of face, and buying clubs will be wary due to the pandemic.
But if Harry wants it to happen, he has the power to make it happen and one senses he’s preparing to use it.
Where should he go? Haaland can only join one club so there will be others who’d love Kane if the price is right.
Manchester City is the obvious one, he has the football brain to work in Pep’s team.
If City get Haaland, maybe a riskier switch to Barcelona would work. Imagine what Kane and Messi would do together, provided there was real pace in other areas of the team.
