Cleaning: Lynsey Crombie shares eucalyptus oil carpet hack as she discusses new book

Lynsey Crombie, also known as the Queen of Clean on Instagram, has taken the cleaning world by storm in recent years. With over 232,000 followers on Instagram and regular appearances on ITV’s This Morning, Lynsey’s cleaning tips have become legendary. From shaving foam for gleaming stainless steel, to tea bags in baking trays, Lynsey has managed to make cleaning both enjoyable and affordable.

Today, Lynsey’s new book, The 15-minute Clean: The quickest way to a sparkling home, is available to buy online and in stores.

The book allows fellow cleaning enthusiasts and newbies to create their own daily cleaning routine.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk Lynsey discussed what she wanted readers to learn from her book and how to use eucalyptus oil to clean your carpet.

Lynsey is an advocate for natural cleaning products such as bicarbonate of soda, white vinegar and lemons.

“You only need the tiniest drop.”

Lynsey’s book is aimed at everyone – including those who don’t particularly enjoy cleaning, tidying and organising their home.

“Anyone can pick this book up; young, old, in a relationship, not in a relationship,” Lynsey explained.

“It will just help you manage your home a little bit better, that was the point of it.”

Lynsey said that she’s aware a lot of people don’t enjoy cleaning, so making the process easier for those people is part of her aim.

She added: “People don’t like cleaning, let’s be honest.

“The people that are liking it for a trend at the moment, probably hate it but are just doing it to get likes on Instagram.

“The book is just to make it quick, fun and manageable.”

The cleaning expert also said she wanted to give people their lives back so that they don’t spend hours or an entire day cleaning.

She said: “If you’re breaking it down and doing a small amount each day, preferably in the morning when you leave the house and go to work, it’s giving you your weekend back.

“In the summer, you can enjoy a barbecue with friends, you can go to the coast in the day and not worry about that pile of ironing that’s been sat in the cupboard.

“We’ve been locked down for a year, the last thing we want to do is continue to be locked in our home doing housework.

“Now we really want to appreciate what’s out there and what the world offers us.”
