Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 has one surprise advantage over Galaxy S21 line-up

The Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 phones have been unveiled this week, and if you’re looking to upgrade and want plenty of value for money these new handsets could seriously turn your head. The A52, A52 5G and A72 offer flagship-level features at a price that won’t break the bank. This trio of new Samsung phones was unveiled at an Unpacked earlier this week, but unfortunately for Galaxy fans in Blighty the cheapest handset – the A52 – won’t be heading to the UK.

That’s the bad news. The good news though is the A52 5G costs £399, with the A72 a tidge bit more at £419.

And you get plenty of bang for your buck, with the A72 and A52 boasting a 90Hz refresh rate on its display, and the A52 5G going one better with a 120Hz display.

This type of crisp screen quality is usually only found on flagship devices such as the S21, with phones just a few years ago mainly boasting 60Hz refresh rate.

The beefed up refresh rate brings with it huge advantages such as smoother animations, silkier scrolling and big gaming gains.

But these aren’t the only great additions – with the A52, A52 5G and A72 being water and dust resistant, boasting two day battery life and receiving regular security updates for a minimum of four years.

There are lots of great reasons to pick up an A52 5G or an A72, and if you were thinking of upgrading to the S21 but had been holding off it wouldn’t be a surprise if the new A phones have turned your head.

And there’s one other thing that may seal the deal and convince you to pick up an A52 5G or A72 instead of an S21.

Earlier this year when the S21 line-up launched those Samsung flagships had one thing missing.

The South Korean tech giant took a leaf out of Apple’s book by ditching the bundled in chargers and earphones with the S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra.

Apple cited environmental reasons while Samsung said it would “help address sustainable consumption issues”.

Samsung said they would gradually remove chargers and bundled in headphones from future phones in a statement released in January.

But those looking to pick up an A52 5G or A72 will get a pleasant surprise as these mid-range handsets will include a bundled in charger.

As reported by SamMobile, unboxing videos posted on YouTube by Samsung shows the A52 5G will come with a 15W Adaptive Fast Charger while the A72 has a 25W Super Fast charging adapter.

Both phones, however, are capable of 25W Fast Charging.

The A72 also comes with a USB Type-C to Type-C cable while the A52 5G has a USB Type-A to Type-C cable.

The new A phones don’t come with a pair of bundled in earphones though.

If you like the sound of the A52 5G or the A72 then these handsets are available to purchase right now from the Samsung website.
