EastEnders spoilers: Stacey Slater attacked as Jake Moon returns to help Ruby?

EastEnders’ Ruby Allen (played by Louisa Lytton) has become more and more like her gangster father Johnny Allen (Billy Murray) in recent months in her attempts to keep Martin Fowler (James Bye) away from Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner). Jake Moon (Joel Beckett) was tasked with looking after the club owner when her father was sent to prison in 2006 but will her recent pregnancy troubles lead her to reach out to the familiar figure to get Stacey out of the picture for good?

The club owner facilitated Kush Kazemi’s (Davood Ghadami) kidnapping of Arthur Fowler, arranged for Stacey to be attacked and lied about her pregnancy in order to keep Martin close.

The devious gangster’s daughter is desperate to start a family of her own but she may reach out to those who knew her father best when she receives devastating news from her doctor.

Jake arrived in Walford in 2004 and when Johnny was sent to prison for Dennis Rickman’s (Nigel Harman) murder, the gangster asked him to look after his daughter.

However, since returning to Walford Ruby hasn’t mentioned Jake and one EastEnders fan shared their concerns on Reddit.

They wrote: “So how come Ruby seems to have no memory or thought about Jake Moon?

“In her last few months on the square on her original stint all Jake did was run about trying to protect her and act as guardian for Johnny so to speak whilst in prison.

“He even got into a feud with Sean Slater after seeing through him for using Ruby….urm wouldn’t that stick with you and you’d think Ruby would at least ask the question, so where’s Jake these days?

“Just seems odd that part of history seems to be erased from her story…that and I’m one of those awkward characters who wants a conclusion to whether he’s six feet under or not lol.”

The gangster tried to phone Jake to deliver the order but had a heart attack before he could dial.

Johnny’s cellmate overheard him declaring he wanted someone dead but mistakenly thought it was Jake he was angry with.

When Jake decided to leave Walford in 2006, he was confronted by a stranger who asked who he was and the landlord has never been since.

However, Johnny’s accomplice’s fate has never been confirmed and Ruby could get back in touch with him as she struggles to move on from her miscarriage.

When Stacey forced Ruby to have a pregnancy test – which to both their surprise was positive – the club owner opened up on how she yearns for a family and how much she misses her father.

Despite her devious tactics, Ruby still fears her husband has feelings for his ex-wife and may decide the best way to honour her father is to become like him.

Jake was prepared to do anything to protect Ruby and would have killed Sean if Johnny had been able to get his message to him before his death.

Will Ruby reconnect with Jake and order him to attack Stacey to ensure she keeps away from Martin?

EastEnders continues on BBC One on Monday at 8.05pm.
