Observations from the Mets’ 3-2 loss to the Marlins on Wednesday.

More smiles

A day after hitting his first homer of this spring on Tuesday, Francisco Lindor went 2-for-3 in the Mets’ loss to the Marlins in Jupiter, Fla.

Walk-off woe

Yennsy Diaz surrendered a two-run, game-ending homer in the ninth to Joe Dunand (who is Alex Rodriguez’s nephew). It was the second homer of the game allowed by the Mets.

Caught my eye

The Mets struck out 13 times. That included nine strikeouts in five innings against Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara.
