Tina is thought to be using the documentary as an opportunity to say goodbye to her fans.
It was reported that her husband said it was “closure” at a Broadway premiere of her theatre show.
“She said, ‘I’m going to America to say goodbye to my American fans and I’ll wrap it up.’
“And I think this documentary and the play, this is it — it’s a closure,” The Sun reports him saying.
On Twitter, Tina said the documentary was the “only way to tell her story,” and offered a “never before seen” look into her life.
Tina premieres in the US on HBO on March 27, and in the UK on Sky Documentaries on March 28.
