GMB: Woman arrested at Clapham vigil fights back tears as she recalls 'terrifying' ordeal

One tweeted: “I am absolutely disgusted how GMB haven’t pointed out how the family of Sarah Everard asked for the vigil NOT to go ahead. They broke the pandemic rules, simple

@GMB.”

“A very one sided interview. Not one question about why she broke the law by going in the first place. Light a candle at home. We are in a national lockdown and people are going without seeing family and they selfishly moan when they get arrested for breaking the law,” another wrote.

While a third shared: “The fine needs to be withdrawn and compensation needs to be paid to the girl, it’s up to her, but donating any compensation to a women’s charity might be an appropriate use. Banning vigil was a bad decision, organised, daylight only, policed by a majority of WPC’s?”

“This is sickening scenes from Clapham bandstand. Compare and contrast the scenes of George Square in Glasgow where Rangers supporters were given a police escort and police were high-fiving the supporters, even through this was a far bigger breach of lockdown restrictions,” a fourth added.
Good Morning Britain airs on ITV on weekdays at 6am.
