Liverpool squad ‘made fun of Mohamed Salah in the dressing room following his agent’s cryptic tweet’ during Chelsea defeat… as reports claim Egyptian is high-maintenance off the pitch and does NOT get on well with strike partner Sadio Mane

  • Liverpool players ‘made fun of Mohamed Salah’ following his agent’s tweet
  • Ramy Abbas Issa posted a full stop after Salah was substituted against Chelsea
  • The Egyptian is reportedly a high maintenance figure off the pitch at Liverpool
  • His relationship with strike partner Sadio Mane is also described as ‘imperfect’

Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool team-mates reportedly made fun of the Egyptian star following his agent’s tweet reacting to him being substituted against Chelsea.

Earlier this month Salah – the Premier League’s leading goalscorer – was substituted by manager Jurgen Klopp with half-an-hour still to play in the match, with the winger looking less-than-impressed as he made his way off.

Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa decided to quickly take to social media, with the football agent tweeting a cryptic singular full-stop.

And the Athletic has revealed Abbas’ cryptic tweet saw Salah become the subject of some light ribbing from his fellow players on the training ground.

After another impressive personal season with 25 goals amidst a chaotic one for his side, the 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside club as they contemplate a squad rebuild this summer.

Despite his good form, the report indicates the forward can be a high maintenance figure off the pitch and has an ‘imperfect’ relationship with strike partner Sadio Mane.

It is claimed he was unhappy when Trent Alexander-Arnold was named as captain ahead of him for a Champions League match against Midtjylland.

In December, Salah left Liverpool stunned by conducting an interview with Spanish publication AS, in which he refused to rule out the possibility of playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future.

But despite some apparent fractious moments, The Athletic’s report indicates Salah is still a ‘popular’ figure in the Liverpool squad.

One training ground source told the Athletic: ‘Mo’s work insulates him from any fallout.

‘He is the darling of the sport science department and has barely missed a training session. He is popular, warm, funny and more self-deprecating than he can appear.’

His troubles with Mane have reared its head on the pitch on several occasions. Last season against Burnley, Mane reacted angrily to Salah not passing to him and trying to score himself.

Despite apparent troubles, the pair went on to help Liverpool storm to the Premier League title last season and still have 37 goals and nine assists between them this campaign.
