In a statement, the broadcasting giant said: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.
“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add,” it continued and fans have reacted to the news.
One wrote on Twitter: “[Susanna] didn’t say he’ll be missed? Piers offered much entertainment good and bad…in my view made the show!”
Another posted: “I just switched to see who’s presenting and turned over. Ratings will drop. Yes, he’s outspoken but he’s good at what he does.”
“I must say I did enjoy hearing the guests answer questions without interruption or animosity toward them, quite refreshing really. The show is already so much better,” a third shared.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
