At least 10 injured after Texas natural gas explosion

As least 10 people were injured in a fire caused by a natural gas explosion in Texas Friday night, officials said.

The explosion happened just before 8 p.m. when workers for the utility company CenterPoint Energy were trying to shut down a gas line outside a home in the town of Spring, KXAN reported, citing the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office.

All the victims are believed to be from the energy company. They were hospitalized but their conditions were not immediately known.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene managed to contain the flames, Fox affiliate KRIV reported.

At least one house was damaged in the blast, and residents were evacuated from the area, according to the outlet.
