England suffer ANOTHER early batting collapse in India as Joe Root’s side fall to 74-3 at lunch after spinner Axar Patel produced another fine display on day one of fourth Test in Ahmedabad

England suffered another poor start with the bat against India on Thursday as Joe Root’s side lost three wickets in the early stages of the fourth Test in Ahmedabad.

Spinner Axar Patel continued his impressive form from the previous match, taking two wickets before lunch and dismissing opening pair Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley.

Mohammed Siraj then removed Joe Root for lbw as the tourists’ woes at the crease continued. Ben Stokes then joined Jonny Bairstow at the crease and they managed to steady the ship and take England to 74-3 at lunch.
