Will Bryan Cranston’s ‘Your Honor’ Get a Season 2 on Showtime?

Bryan Cranston‘s Your Honor may have been shut out at the 2021 Golden Globes, but the buzzy limited series still managed to make quite a splash. Two weeks after the Your Honor finale aired on Showtime, Cranston competed against the likes of Mark Ruffalo and Ethan Hawke for the Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie award. While Cranston ultimately lost out to Ruffalo, who played twins in HBO’s I Know This Much is True, his appearance at the Globes introduced an entirely new audience to his Showtime limited series, which flew under the radar when it first debuted in December.

Well, not any more, folks. If the Golden Globes served as your first introduction to Your Honor on Showtime, you’ve come to the right place. What is Bryan Cranston’s new show about? Will there be a Your Honor Season 2? Here’s everything you need to know!

YOUR HONOR SHOWTIME: WHAT IS BRYAN CRANSTON’S NEW SHOW ABOUT?

An adaptation of Israeli drama KvodoYour Honor stars Bryan Cranston as Michael Desiato, a prominent New Orleans judge. When Michael’s son Adam (Hunter Doohan) is involved in a hit and run that kills the son of an organized crime boss, Michael lays his career on the line and sets out to protect him, no matter the moral cost.

ALL ABOUT THAT YOUR HONOR BRYAN CRANSTON GOLDEN GLOBES NOMINATION

Cranston’s performance in Your Honor was critically-acclaimed when the limited series first debuted in early December — “Bryan Cranston puts in a typically compelling Bryan Cranston performance,” wrote Joel Keller in his initial Your Honor review for Decider — so it was no surprise to hear his name called at the Golden Globe nominations early last month.

Unfortunately for the Breaking Bad alum, Cranston faced stiff competition from Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Daniels, Ethan Hawke, and Hugh Grant in the Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie category, and he ultimately lost to Ruffalo, star of I Know This Much is True on HBO.

YOUR HONOR CAST: BRYAN CRANSTON, HUNTER DOOHAN, AND MORE

In addition to Cranston, Your Honor stars Hunter Doohan (Adam Desiato), Jimi Stanton (Carlo Baxter), Carmen Ejogo (Lee), Hope Davis (Gina Baxter), Sofia Black-D’Elia (Frannie), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Charlie), Michael Stuhlbarg (Jimmy Baxter), Margo Martindale (Elizabeth), Lorraine Toussaint (Judge Sarah LeBlanc), Amy Landecker (Nancy Costello), Tony Curran (Frankie), Lilli Kay (Fia Baxter), and Lamar Johnson (Kofi).

The latter half of the season also featured an appearance from The Affair‘s Maura Tierney, who plays prosecutor Fiona McKee.

YOUR HONOR SEASON 2: WILL THERE BE A SEASON 2 OF YOUR HONOR?

Technically, Your Honor is billed as a Showtime limited series (and competed in the limited series at the Golden Globes), so it’s unlikely that there will be a second season. However, limited series have been renewed in the past — looking at you, Big Little Lies — so it’s not impossible that fans could see Your Honor Season 2 in the future.

IS KVODO STREAMING IN THE US?

Unfortunately, Kvodo, the Israeli show that Your Honor is based on, is not currently available to stream in the United States, but let’s hope that changes soon.
