Observations from Wednesday’s Yankees workout:
Happy Gleyber Day
Aaron Boone said Gleyber Torres is in “great shape” and is “moving well” this spring. Torres’ conditioning was called into question when he reported to camp last summer for the second spring training not in his best form, but the Yankees have praised his work throughout the offseason.
Andujar off track
Miguel Andujar made a few miscues at third base as he attempts to find a role on the team. With Gio Urshela seemingly recovered from elbow surgery, Andujar may have to provide some versatility.
Caught my eye
Seats were tied off throughout Steinbrenner Field on Wednesday in preparation for Sunday’s first game, to enforce social distancing.
Thursday’s schedule
More workouts for pitchers and catchers at the minor league complex and position players at GMS Field in preparation for their first Grapefruit League game of the season against the Blue Jays.
