Tennessee man arrested for impersonating Barack Obama on gun permit application

A Tennessee man allegedly forged former President Barack Obama’s name on a handgun permit application, a report said.

Robert Hallick, of Chattanooga, was arrested last Thursday for the illegal Jan. 21 application, WTVC reported.

Hallick is accused of using the name “President Barack H. Obama” after his original November request for a gun permit using his real identity was denied over an active arrest warrant in Michigan, according to an affidavit obtained by the outlet.

He also sent a $50 check and a letter with the official United States of America seal in the second application.

Police charged Hallick with perjury, forgery and identity theft, the report said.
