TUI flights, holidays & cruise latest updates as Marella Cruises & skiing trips cancelled

TUI has been quick to respond to Government travel changes throughout the coronavirus crisis. However, it can be tricky to keep up with what is going ahead and what is cancelled. These are the latest updates from TUI.

TUI Marella Cruises

TUI announced on Monday night that Marella Cruises would be extending its pause in operations.

Cruises with TUI will now not resume until June at the earliest.

Marella customers who are affected will be contacted.

They will be able to get a refund or change their cruise holiday for free.

“Due to the ongoing uncertainty around travel restrictions, Marella Cruises has extended its pause in operations up to and including April 30, 2021,” said TUI in their latest statement.

“We’re proactively contacting impacted customers to discuss their options which will include amending to another holiday for free with an incentive or cancelling and receiving a full refund.”

TUI holidays

TUI cancelled its package holidays on January 5 following the news of a third national lockdown.

TUI states on its website: “Due to the impact of COVID-19 and travel restrictions in place all TUI holidays up to and including March 7, 2021, have been cancelled.

“Customers will be contacted in departure date order to discuss their options, which will include amending to another holiday with an incentive or cancelling and receiving a full refund.

DON’T MISS

“We will constantly review our holiday programme in line with updated travel advice.”

What’s more, holidays due to depart on or before April 30, 2021, to Goa, India; La Palma, Canary Islands; Phuket, Thailand, The Gambia and Florida are also cancelled.

After it was announced that hotel quarantine would come into force for arrivals from 33 countries from Monday, TUI said: “We’re aware of the Government’s announcement regarding mandatory hotel quarantine for arrivals to the UK from ‘red list’ countries from February 15.

“As we’re currently not operating, we’re working through what this means for our holiday programme and we’ll be contacting any impacted customers as soon as we have more information.”

TUI Crystal Ski

TUI’s skiing arm, Crystal Ski, has axed holidays completely for this season, it was announced today.

“Crystal Ski Holidays today announced that due to the continued impact of Covid-19 on worldwide travel and ski resorts, it won’t be operating any holidays this season,” the company said in a statement.

“All impacted customers will be proactively contacted to discuss a range of flexible options. These include amending their holiday to a future season with an incentive, or cancelling and receiving a refund.

“The UK’s leading ski tour operator is already seeing high demand for next winter and has a wide range of ski holidays on offer from December 6, 2021, until April 10, 2022, available to book now with low deposits and some strong value deals.”

Chris Logan, Managing Director at Crystal Ski Holidays, said: “We’re so disappointed not to be able to get our customers to the mountains this winter and we’d like to thank them for their continued patience, understanding and support

We know skiers and snowboarders are desperate to get back on the snow and we’re now looking forward to making next winter one to remember.”
