Dating apps seeing big spike in users boasting about being vaccinated: report

COVID-19 vaccinations are increasingly sexy — at least among the dating set.

Dating apps are seeing a big spike in users boasting the word “vaccine” and “vaccinated” in their profiles, a new UK report has found.

Tinder is reporting that between September and December of 2020 — when vaccines began being available — there was a 258 percent increase in people mentioning they’ve been jabbed, the UK publication Tyla reported.

Likewise, OKCupid saw mentions of vaccines go up by 137 percent between November 2020 and January 2021, the publication reported.

The app Bumble did not offer Tyla any stats. But a spokesperson noted “an increase” in the number of people including the word “vaccine” or “vaccinated” in Bumble profiles.

Hinge, too, said their app is seeing more of the same references.

“Almost 70 percent of over 45,000 OkCupid respondents said they are going to take the coronavirus vaccine,” a rep said.

“And people who said ‘Yes’ to our question ‘Will you get the COVID-19 vaccine?’ are getting more ‘Likes’ than those who said ‘No,’ the rep added.

“Basically, no vaccine means no Valentine.”
