Food recall: Lidl issues urgent warning on meat due to possible presence of plastic

A food recall is issued when a product is known to be faulty. Lidl GB has shared a warning for products sold in various stores in the UK.

The affected packs are one kilogram with the Use By date of February 13, 2021.

Those who have the meat product in question are urged not to eat it and can instead return to the retailer for a refund.

The statement continued: “If you have bought the above mentioned product with the affected Use By date, we advise you not to eat this.

“Instead, return it to a Lidl GB store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.”

DON’T MISS

Customers can also return the item by emailing [email protected] and including a photo of the pack with the Use By date visible.

The refund will then be processed by the Customer Service team via letter.

The product recall is specific to packs of Birchwood XXL Pork Mince sold in England, Wales and Scotland only.

No other Use By dates of the product, or any other Birchwood items, are known to be affected.

The packs are 330 grams, 6x55g, with the Use dates of February 13, 2021 and February 14, 2021.

They can be returned to the manufacturer via mail.

A statement said: “As a precautionary measure, Lactalis NestlĂ© Chilled Dairy UK is voluntarily recalling the above product with the specific use by date 13/02 and 14/02 due to a strong unpleasant salty taste caused by an ingredient which is part of the normal composition but that has been overdosed in the production of these batches.

“Return the top of the pot lid with this Use By date for a full refund to: Freepost Nestle UK Consumer Services, Nestle Milkybar Little Treats Recall, PO BOX 205, YORK, YO91 1XY.”
