Kensington Palace: Inside Kate and William’s beautiful apartment in the heart of London

Located close to Hyde Park in central London, Kensington Palace is a stunning royal residence just minutes away from Buckingham Palace and St James’ Palace. The palace was purchased by King William and Queen Mary in 1689 and has since been home to a plethora of royals over the years. Queen Victoria was born in the palace in 1819 and Princess Margaret and her husband the Earl of Snowdon lived there in the 1960s.

He has a relatively contemporary chest of drawers, an old chestnut desk and an antique-style desk lamp.

A white marble fireplace is also located in the room with a gold, framed mirror above it.

Photos from Barack and Michelle Obama’s visit back in 2016 showed the couple’s drawing room.

The room has a neutral cream and gold colour scheme with several lamps dotted around to exude cosy light.

Delicate florals and chestnut furniture add to the room’s lavish feel.

The royal room also has plush cream sofas, an elaborate bunch of flowers and plenty of plants.

An ottoman table, pink upholstered armchairs, gold-framed art work and ornate rugs complete the room.

Another photo of the couple’s home shows a young Prince George sat on an antique-style rocking horse.

The young prince is wearing a white dressing gown while riding the horse and speaking to his mum.

The photo also shows the room’s white window seats and the huge sash windows.

The windows also have patterned floor-length curtains.

The Garden

It may come as no surprise to note that the gardens at Kensington Palace are just as grand as the interior.

Images from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement back in November 2017, revealed the palace’s Sunken Garden.

The photos revealed a gorgeous garden with manicured lawns, ponds and plenty of plants.

Other images revealed a beautiful collection of brightly coloured flowers.
