M&S release ‘must have’ limited edition Colin & Connie the Caterpillar cake

Marks and Spencer is well known for its Colin the Caterpillar cake range which have proven to be extremely popular among fans over the years. Now with the retailer releasing themed cakes for Easter, Halloween, and Christmas, the newest additions mark Valentine’s Day.

The first ever Colin the Caterpillar cake was released in 1990 and has since gone through quite a few transformations.

The line now includes a Connie the Caterpillar cake, jelly sweets, mini logs and the retailer has recently launched Colin the Caterpillar chocolate faces.

Connie was first introduced as Colin’s girlfriend back in 2016 and the pair married in 2017.

Now, hitting the supermarket shelves is the favourite couple coming together in M&S’ limited-edition Colin & Connie Love Cocoon.

Fans went wild over the new release with one saying that this was a ‘must have’.

Taking to the comments, one person wrote: “I know you can buy them separately, but this is a must have for me.”

Another said: “This is so cute, I definitely want to get this.”

The retailer also has a number of other Valentine’s Day gifts including Love Is In The Air Colin & Connie Gift Bag which costs £30 and includes a whole range of Colin items.

The newest iconic creation comes after last week’s launch of Marks and Spencer’s Giant Colin Faces, which according to the retailer, became an immediate bestseller.

To celebrate Colin’s 30th birthday last year, the retailer launched bags of mini Colin faces and fans went wild for them.

However M&S said that the giant Colin faces are already way ahead of the mini ones.

The giant white chocolate Colin the Caterpillar face features Colin’s face with two milk chocolate eyes.

They retail for just £1 each and fans can buy them any time of the year, not just on special occasions.

Fans can now also get the Colin line delivered to their homes.

Taking to its Instagram to share the news, the retailer attracted nearly 10,000 likes on the post.

They wrote: “You can now get Colin DELIVERED! Our cake-filled dreams just came true. And it’s not only Colin but any more cakes to send to loved one or to enjoy at home.”
