Cardi B makes 'shameless' celebrity cameo in Wayne's World themed Uber Eats Super Bowl ad

‘WAG (Wayne and Garth)’: Cardi B makes ‘shameless’ celebrity cameo in Wayne’s World themed Uber Eats Super Bowl commercial

Cardi B teamed up with Wayne’s World stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey for an ‘excellent’ Uber Eats ad set to air during Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The 28-year-old WAP hitmaker played herself in the ‘shameless’ cameo alongside the boys, as they aim to encourage viewers to eat local in support of restaurants struggling amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Full of costume switches and admittedly humorous ‘manipulation’ tactics to entice the audience, the trio end the commercial jamming out to the Wayne’s World theme song in the intentionally campy ad.

The famed SNL skit which was turned into a subsequent film in the nineties treated fans to an unlikely commercial as Myers and Carvey reprised their roles as Wayne and Garth.

True to form, the one-minute ad opens with the theme song before they tells viewers ‘as a local access show we want everyone to support local restaurants, but we’d never manipulate you the way all these other commercials do.’

The video continues to jokingly include tactics like windblown glamour shots and mini-me babies before they say, ‘we’d never shamelessly rely on a celebrity cameo,’ as Cardi enters.

‘Yeah eat local,’ she says in typical Cardi intonation, before the trio make a nod to the very popular TikTok outfit-change jump cut and switch wardrobes with each other.

So many spots are struggling right now, and it’s up to us to EAT LOCAL! That’s why I teamed up with Uber Eats and my boys Wayne and Garth to help.’

The online delivery platform has allocated $20M to help struggling small businesses amid countless restaurants nationwide that have been forced to shut down entirely or lay off numerous workers since last March.

A pricey spot during Sunday’s upcoming game that will see the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the cost of a 30-second ad last year came at a whopping $5.6M.
