Former RHOD star LeeAnne Locken says she was made a scapegoat by ‘lazy’ castmates who ‘attacked her’: ‘The toxicity level was too much’

Former Real Housewives of Dallas star LeeAnne Locken is opening up about why she exited the show after five years.

Speaking on podcast Chanel In The City with Chanel Omari the 53-year-old, who left the Bravo show last year, accused her former castmates of ‘attacking her’ and making her a scapegoat

Locken said the stress became too much with her costars picking fights with her.

‘I was always going to be the target and I was always going to be their scapegoat for, I don’t have much going on. So let’s fight with Leanne and you know, you can, every article that you read about Dallas, all roads lead back to Leanne.’ Locken told Omari.

‘And I just honestly don’t think people understand the amount of stress that can cause on one human. It wasn’t my job to carry that show. It never should have been my job, but because some other cast are lazy, it became, they forced it on me.

‘And then they attacked me for being right. And I just got to a point where the toxicity level was just too much, you know, look, I, I’m not perfect. I made a ton of mistakes on that show, but I grew a ton on that show and I hope that the audience saw me grow and grew with me because that was my goal.’

Locken did say she would consider returning to the show, but only if it was with a completely different cast.

‘There would have to be several removals before I would go back only because the way that I learned to uplift and encourage and inspire is by sharing my life.’

In 2019, Locken came under fire for making a racially insensitive comment during a cast trip to Thailand.

While talking about Kary Brittingham, Locken said: ‘The little chirpy Mexican has to have her way.’

She took to Twitter to apologize after fan backlash.

Locken said she will only go back to the show if it's a totally different cast: 'There would have to be several removals before I would go back only because the way that I learned to uplift and encourage and inspire is by sharing my life.'

LeeAnne wrote: ‘I am deeply sorry to those that I have hurt or offended with some of my comments on Real Housewives of Dallas Season 4.

‘It was never my intention to hurt anyone and I will use this as a learning experience to be more aware of my comments in the future.

‘My commitment to moving forward is to continue my work fighting for quality and acceptance of all humans.’

Reflecting on the incident Locken told Omari, ‘I learned from it and I grew from it. And I realized that it’s about respecting one another. And you know, I think that’s the most important thing. We don’t grow without learning to respect one another.

‘And if you look at all the movements that are happening today, they’re happening because people don’t feel respected. And so for me, I just want to say, I, I think the biggest example of how much I respect all ethnicities, race, sexual orientation is my LGBTQ advocacy.’
