Three people were badly burned in an explosion on a film set near Los Angeles Tuesday, authorities said.
The blast was reported at around 4:45 p.m. local time in a mixed use industrial neighborhood of Santa Clarita, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.
Ambulances took three patients who suffered critical injuries — second and third-degree burns — to Henry Mayo Hospital, local outlet ABC30 reported.
The explosion sparked a small brush fire that spread up a nearby hillside, but firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames.
The cause of the blast wasn’t immediately known. A hazmat team was on hand to assess the situation and an investigation was ongoing.
It’s unclear which movie was being filmed.
