Donald Trump ‘would choose Ivanka over Melania’ admits former First Lady’s ex-aide

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff claimed Ivanka Trump is “Donald in a suit”. Ms Wolkoff Worked with the former First Lady in the East Wing at the very start of Mr Trump’s administration.

Reports state the former aide was a longtime friend of Melania’s until she stopped working at the White House.

In her tell-all book, ‘Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady’ Ms Wolkoff wrote about her side of the story.

According to She Knows, Ms Wolkoff claimed Ivanka “would usurp” her step mother.

She said: “One of the reasons why I wrote ‘Melania and Me’ in the way that I wrote it… was to highlight the way that Ivanka would usurp Melania and all the traditions of the White House and didn’t care about any rules and didn’t care about anyone else.”

Ms Wolkoff went on to express her concerns over Ivanka’s potential political future now her father has left office.

She said: “She’s Donald in a suit. She is Donald’s one ace in the hole.

“And if Donald had to choose between anyone, it would be Ivanka.”

The former aide also explained why it took a long time for her to “realise Melania wasn’t really my friend”.

“I have most recently found this to be the case as major news outlets eagerly covered salacious claims made by a former contractor who advised my office.

“A person who said she ‘made me’ even though she hardly knew me, and someone who clung to me after my husband won the Presidency.“

After the riots at Capitol Hill last month, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner were said to be “in a bit of a panic” about their future career prospects.

During her father’s four years in the White House, Ivanka served as Advisor to the President and the Director of Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship since 2017.

Her husband was also a senior adviser to his father-in-law Mr Trump.

Kate Bennett, CNN White House correspondent, said sources in the White House told her the “horrific images” of the Capitol riots will haunt Ivanka for the rest of her career.

She said: “That has [Ivanka’s husband] Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump in a bit of a panic as they look to their future.

“I talked to a lot of sources today who say they’re questioning everything now, from where they’re going to live after the White House to what their careers will be.”

Ms Bennett added that the Trump administration’s collapse will make it “very difficult for them to tout any achievements they’ve made inside this administration”.
