Actress Jeanette Maus, Most Recently Known For Role In Resident Evil Village, Dies At 39

Jeanette Maus has donned many roles but most recently, she set the internet alight with her bloody charm in a new trailer for Resident Evil Village. It is with a somber heart that we report that Maus has passed away at the young age of 39.

Capcom broke the news to the gaming community, with an image of her character in Village and the following caption:

“We here at Capcom R&D 1 are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jeanette Maus, the talented actress who helped bring several different characters, including our witches to the world in Resident Evil Village. Our hearts go out to her family and loved ones.”

THR reports that Maus passed away due to an ongoing eight-month-long battle with colon cancer on Sunday night, January 24.

“Jeanette was truly an artist and felt truly grateful to live as an artist,” reads a statement from John Rosenfeld Studios, where she taught and mentored young actors. “She had an indomitable spirit and was hungry to be the best person, the best teacher, the best friend, and the best actor she could be. The world lost a force of nature, and we will be feeling that for a long time.”

In addition to teaching and mentoring young hopefuls, she enjoyed a career in film and television, including an upcoming show called Stellar People and previous credits including Those Guys, Charm City Kings, Snuggle Party, Dismissed, and more.

We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to Maus’ family and her loved ones during their time of loss. She was an incredible talent and will be sorely missed.
