Serge Aurier STORMED OUT of Tottenham stadium after furious half-time inquest into Roberto Firmino’s goal led to him being hooked by Jose Mourinho as it ‘kicked off’ in dressing room

Tottenham players were involved in a fiery half-time inquest during the loss to Liverpool on Thursday night in scenes that resulted in Serge Aurier storming out of the stadium at half-time.

To make matters worse star striker Harry Kane is facing a ‘few weeks’ on the sidelines after suffering blows to both ankles in the loss.

There was fury at the poor defensive errors that led to Roberto Firmino’s opener just before the break which sparked angry exchanges between players.

Jose Mourinho took the decision to substitute Aurier at half-time a decision which infuriated the defender, who promptly left the stadium.

Speaking before Sportsmail learned of Aurier’s exit, Jose Mourinho said of the half-time team talk: ‘It was the mood of team that was difficult to accept you are losing.

‘It’s difficult to accept the nature of the goal because the goal is in some aspects a replica of the chance they had in the first minute. So it’s, of course, a mood where people is not happy.’

Sources claim it ‘kicked off’ in the home dressing room at half-time.

Kane limped off at half-time after taking blows to each ankle. The striker’s joints were both swollen as he left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sparking major concern of a lengthy lay off.

The striker will undergo assessments and scans over the next 48 hours – but Mourinho said: ‘Two ankles, the first was a bad tackle, it was Thiago, the second one I didn’t know well.

‘But two injuries in both ankles, the second one worst than the first one – a few weeks, I don’t know.

‘For Harry to leave a game when he wants to play – it’s not a nothing injury. How long we have to wait and see.’

Jurgen Klopp couldn’t contain his satisfaction as Liverpool won their first Premier League game in six to give their title ambitions a timely boost.

‘I’m delighted, we played a great game – it was super intense. We scored in the right moments – and all the right people scored,’ he said.

‘That was who we are – that was us. We showed massive fight and football. It was a good performance and I saw a lot of things I wanted to see.’

But Klopp suffered two major central defensive blows after Fabinho suffered an injury in the lead up to the clash while Joel Matip – the club’s only fit recognised senior centre-back – limped off with an ankle ligament injury raising fears he is facing another spell on the sidelines.

And Klopp has not ruled out entering the transfer market to sign a central defender before Monday’s deadline.

‘You can imagine we think about everything. We think the whole time about doing the right thing, we need to find the right player – it’s incredible what’s happening to us (with injuries),’ Klopp added.
