Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Waitrose urgently recall hazardous laundry detergent

Eco-friendly manufacturer called Ecover is urgently recalling one of its laundry detergent products. A recall is put in place when an unsafe discovery is made that could potentially pose a risk to the consumer. Details of the recall were listed on their website.

The product is sold at many retailers including Waitrose, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s.

All of the supermarkets are recalling the item.

By going to www.ecoverukrecall.com customers can organise a careful collection and a refund.

Alternatively, customers can call 00800 0000 2655.

While looking for the batch code on the laundry detergent bottle, customers should wear gloves and be careful not to get any of the liquid on your skin.

Customers can find the 10-digit batch code on the neck of the bottle.

Ecover recommends wrapping the bottle in a plastic bag or placing it in a sturdy container, out of reach from children and pets while waiting for disposal.

The company also advises rinsing your skin or hair immediately with plenty of water because it can cause skin burns.

Ecover also advised customers on what they should do if the product was to get in their eyes.

The company said: “Rinse cautiously with water immediately for several minutes.

“Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do and continue risking. Please seek urgent medical attention. If there is prolonged contact, it could result in permanent eye damage.”

According to the eco-friendly label, the recall only affected two batch codes but customers are encouraged to check their bottle using their online tool.
