In the first ever Outlander episode, fans saw Jamie Fraser’s (played by Sam Heughan) ghost watching his future wife Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) at her hotel window. Later in the episode, the pair come face-to-face when Claire travels back in time and is rescued by Jamie’s fellow highlanders after a run-in with the Redcoats. The two go on to marry and have one of the most intense romances on television. While fans have enjoyed watching their relationship grow, they still want answers about how and why Jamie’s ghost was drawn to Claire.
There have been plenty of theories about how they were pulled together with some believing Jamie pulled Claire into the past.
Others have suggested Jamie simply came upon Claire while his ghost was walking the Earth on Samhain.
Author Diana Gabaldon has insisted fans won’t find out the truth about Jamie’s ghost until the final Outlander book.
However that hasn’t stopped fans from trying to spot clues in the television series with one pointing out the importance of Jamie’s hat.

After managing to avoid being killed on the battlefield and being given a chance to live by the English afterwards, could Jamie have decided to try and pull Claire back to him.
Fans know Claire was told by her husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) Jamie did not survive and the pair went to Boston to start a new life.
It was only 20 years later, after Frank had died, that Claire learned Jamie was alive and travelled back in time once more.
Could it be that Jamie was able to project himself to pull Claire back in time, however he underestimated how far he needed to travel and instead was only able to watch Claire while she was on her honeymoon to Frank?
“There’s never really an explanation about the ones by the stones, which makes me think that we will learn at the end… hopefully.”
“Aren’t the flowers supposed to be Forget-Me-Nots? The flowers helped to draw Claire back after she had visited with Frank – who planted the flowers?” another asked.
Unfortunately for fans, they will just have to hold out until season six airs to see if Jamie’s ghost is finally explained.
