The MoneySavingExpert.com founder said the reason not to switch straight away is because if customers move elsewhere straight away, “you could end up in a hole in the middle” which could take a while to “sort out”.
He added: “So just let yourself move to the new one and then once that’s done, that new tariff, especially if you’re on a cheap fix, could be more expensive.
“But you can’t have exit penalties so you’re free to switch again when that happens.
“Once I know what that tariff is, I will Tweet out if it’s a good one or not so you can get some more information on that.”
