Jake Paul taunts Conor McGregor with new fight offer after Dustin Poirier defeat

YouTuber Jake Paul has taunted Conor McGregor in the immediate aftermath of his shock UFC 257 defeat to Dustin Poirier. The Diamond got revenge for his 2014 loss at the hands of McGregor by stopping him this time around in devastating fashion on Fight Island.

Poirier capitalised on McGregor’s inactivity and sent him tumbling with a series of hooks that landed flush on the chin.

It was The Notorious’ first fight in a year and it, unfortunately, showed in Abu Dhabi on his return to the lightweight division.

To make matters worse for McGregor, YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul has now rubbed salt in the wounds on social media by mocking his performance.

Paul is angling for a boxing exhibition with McGregor but the UFC is not prepared to give him the time of day.

His brother Logan Paul is set to fight Floyd Mayweather next month and now the 24-year-old has sent McGregor a message in the aftermath of his painful defeat.

“Hey Conor, Hey Conor! I got $10,000 for you, cash. CASH BABY! Oh you had $50,000,000!”

Paul was referring to the $50,000,000 offer he made McGregor back in December to share the ring with him, a proposal that was not even acknowledged by the 32-year-old.

He said at the time on Twitter: “My team sent you a $50 million offer this morning – $50 million cash, proof of funds – the biggest offer you’ve ever been offered.

“But you’re still scared to fight me, Conor. You’re ducking me ‘cause you don’t want to lose to a YouTuber. You’re 0-1 as a boxer.

“I’m 2-0 as a boxer. I just came off the eighth biggest pay-per-view event in history, but you want to fight Dustin ‘Prober’ who has less followers on Instagram than my dog – that’s a fact.”

Before the rematch with Poirier, Paul called out McGregor over his choice of sparring partner as part of his training camp.

Speaking on his Instagram story, Paul said: “Conor’s taking easy fights. But he’s been sparring in Ireland.”

Using his fingers to mock McGregor sarcastically, he added: “He’s been boxing, going against some phenomenal, exciting Irish talent.

“This kid must be really good because Conor’s a ‘good boxer’ right? And then we looked this kid up!

“Ladies and gentlemen, presenting to you: the big, bad, exciting Irish talent – Dylan Moran, the kid that Conor McGregor is sparring against. Take a look!”

Paul then shared footage of Moran in action in his only defeat which came at the Hans of Dennis Okoth in 2019.

Moran was stopped by a clubbing shot to the temple which he was unable to come back from. Paul added: “This is who Conor is calling a phenomenal boxer…”

Despite his bitter defeat, McGregor remains focused on his UFC career and vowed to come back stronger as he targets a return to the octagon as soon as possible.
