Boca Juniors remain in talks to sign Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo but a deal has still to be agreed. 

The Argentine defender is looking to end his seven-year spell at United to return to his native country after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford.    

It is believed Rojo has agreed personal terms with Boca Juniors, but negotiations over the fee continue.

According to ESPN, Boca Juniors had hoped to sign the 30-year-old for nothing as he will be entering into the final six months of his contract.

However, United have the option have the option to extend Rojo’s contract and are reluctant to let him leave for free.

Rojo is eager to push a deal through – having not made a senior appearance for the Red Devils since November 2019 due to injury and a loan spell at boyhood club Estudiantes. 

Despite his limited pitch time at United Boca Juniors’ vice president Juan Roman Riquelme is looking to close a deal for Rojo – who has earned 61 caps and played in the 2014 World Cup final. 

Rojo’s team-mates Sergio Romero and Jesse Lingard could join the 30-year-old in departing Old Trafford this year.
