Baking soda and vinegar: 10 hacks to clean your home

Baking soda hacks

Baking soda can work on its own as a cleaner with no need for vinegar.

Lynsey recommends sprinkling it on mattresses, shoes and rugs, leaving it overnight, and then hoovering it up to get rid of dirt, dust and bad smells.

You can also sprinkle some in stained Tupperware with a dash of water and leave it overnight before rinsing it – this will get rid of the stains.

Mix baking soda with water to make a paste and spread it on the walls and door of the oven and leave it overnight – wipe it off with a damp cloth to reveal clean glass.

Leave some baking soda in an open container in the fridge to absorb bad smells, or pour some in an empty bin to absorb the foul odour.
