Indian gangster drama Mirzapur was one of the biggest shows on Amazon Prime Video in India last year. The show dropped and viewers quickly raced through the new episodes as they sought to find out the fate of Guddu Pandit (played by Ali Fazal) and whether his vendetta against the Tripathi family was successful. However, there were lots of other things going on amid the main revenge plot running through season two.
Are Munna and Kaleen Bhaiya really brothers – not father and son?

The second outing marked the rise of Beena Tripathi (Rasika Dugal), who had felt like a victim in season one after she was coerced into sex with her father-in-law Bauji (Kulbhushan Kharbanda).
Bauji gained the upper hand and blackmailed Beena after discovering her illicit affair with servant Raja (Nitin Mahesh Joshi).
Beena has only been sleeping with Raja after she was left unsatisfied by her husband’s lack of sexual prowess.
Season two saw Beena continuing to sexually service Bauji until she fell pregnant and convinced him the child was his.

The report in question was the one Kaleen Bhaiya was supposed to receive after doing a fertility test, confirming his chances of natural conception were incredibly low to nearly impossible.
This means Kaleen Bhaiya couldn’t be the father of Beena’s child with some wondering whether it’s Bauji or Raja’s baby.
Another user TyroshiSellsword also seemed to pour cold water on this theory, saying: “Babuji forced Beena to conceive his baby knowing she was in a relationship with the house maid and babuji had a blackmail plan with Beena. No such backstory exists with Kaleen bhaiyyas first wife.”
Then again, there were others who seemed to think it would work as a theory with Cyber-Logic writing: “I think it’s a plausible possibility.
“Kaleen’s potency aside, it’s quite likely his creepy father did the same with his previous wife.”
Another user reasoned: “Late to the party, but it’s possible coz when declaring his heirs in s1, bauji said he has two heirs: akhanda and munna. who declares their toddler grandson as an heir while son is still alive?”
User silversurfer9909 said: “Well he was confirmed as a case of impotency by the doc..so most probably couldn’t have impregnated his first wife either..and this the Grandpa knew very well..so by all means all three are Grandpa’s boys…”
From the looks of it, the jury is out over this but the lack of information about Kaleen Bhaiya’s first wife and what happened to her leave the door open for speculation.
Additionally, it’s unclear how long Kaleen Bhaiya had virility problems and so Bauji may have taken matters into his own hands in a sense of misguided loyalty but also self-preservation.
Actress Dugal has already said the writers of Mirzapur know who the father of Beena’s baby is and it seems they’re withholding this piece of information only to disclose it at the right moment.
If this theory is correct, it could send shockwaves through Mirzapur but at the same time confirm a Tripathi will again hold the throne of the city once Beena’s son comes of age.
