David Bowie's model wife Iman, 65, will 'never' marry again despite feeling 'lonely'

David Bowie, who is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the music industry, died after a battle with liver cancer in 2016. On the fifth anniversary of the legendary singer’s death, his widow Iman has opened up about the couple’s marriage in a new interview.

The 65-year-old Somali-born model has discussed the loss of her husband, her new life in the countryside, and being comfortable with getting older.

Iman, who tied the knot with David in 1992, expressed she has little desire to ever walk down the aisle again.

Before the Starman’s death, the couple had celebrated 23 years of marriage in 2015.

Iman admitted her other half is always on her mind as she addressed life without the prolific singer.

“David is in our hearts and minds on a daily basis, for all of us,” Iman remarked. “You know, this was my true love.

“My daughter once asked me if I would ever marry again and I said, ‘never’.”

The entrepreneur and actress said that she can always feel David’s presence.

Iman explained: “He’s hiding in plain sight. His fans are still around, his music is still relevant.

“I go hiking every day – I have this great view of mountains that changes literally every few minutes.

“David was a painter; my daughter is a painter. I never painted in my life, so I’ve taken it up.”

She added: “I learnt that I don’t have to be good at something to start doing it.

“Just get out of your own way, go for it. I do get lonely, but I’m one of those people – thank God – who likes my own company.”

David rose to prominence in the 1970s and was a pioneer of the glam-rock era, famed for hits including Let’s Dance, Under Pressure, and Cat People (Putting Out Fire).

The singer wed model Iman in April 1992, whom he had met 18 months prior and the couple settled in New York.

David is survived by Iman, Lexi, his stepdaughter, Zulekha, and his son, Duncan (formerly known as Zowie, then Joe), from his first marriage.
