Amad Diallo boards flight ahead of Manchester United arrival as fans welcome star to club

Amad Diallo has posted a picture of himself boarding a jet to complete his January transfer to Manchester United. Fans have welcomed the 18-year-old forward to the club as the Red Devils look to compete for the Premier League title.

Yesterday, Diallo flew to Rome to complete the paperwork ahead of his move to United.

The teenager will now fly to Manchester and finalise his move from Atalanta.

There were suggestions Diallo could stay at the Serie A side until the summer but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen to get the forward involved immediately.

Diallo posted a picture of him stepping onto a plane with the caption: “Beautiful sun today.

Diallo has played just 35 minutes for Atalanta in all competitions this season.

The Serie A club have preferred to give game time to prospects staying at the club rather than use the winger.

Diallo is likely to start with United’s Under-23 team until he adapts life in England.

Solskjaer rates the youngster and if he hits the ground running it cannot be ruled out that he could play a part in the remainder of the season.

United return to action against Manchester City on Wednesday in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup (7.45pm).
