PS Now January 2021: Sony dropping Days Gone – with new PS4 games coming soon

Days Gones is being dropped by Sony from the PS Now subscription service, starting in January 2021.

While that’s bad news for anyone who has yet to enjoy the survival horror on the streaming service, there is still plenty to be getting excited about.

Each month, the tech giant chooses which new titles to add to the streaming service, while also replacing some that are leaving it.

And recent months have seen Sony provide a lot more than the three games we have been given in the past.

As an example, six PS4 games were added to the service at the start of December, headlined by Horizon Zero Dawn.

But there were five other tiles made available simultaneously, including Stranded Deep, Broforce, Wreckfest: Drive Hard. Die Last, The Surge 2 and Darksiders III.

None of these games will be disappearing this month, but there are a few changes to know about in January.

The first is that Days Gone will become unplayable on January 4, 2020, depending on where you live in the world.

This appears to be the big drop from the PS Now game list in January 2021, but more will follow.

On February 1, two more games will be disappearing from the PlayStation Now service, including Dead Cells and Hitman 2.

So now would be a great time to find out if you like any of these games before they disappear in the coming days or weeks.

And there’s plenty of new games that could take the place of Days Gone and the others this week.

Marvel’s Spider-Man was a big hit when it launched on PlayStation Now earlier this year, and there are still plenty of first-party games that could be selected.

At least one of these new games will be from the indie genre, and it will be up to Sony how many titles are added to the service during 2021.

PS Now is a streaming-only service, so none of these games will need to be downloaded and installed onto your console.

It should also be noted that PS Now can also be accessed via a PC or PS5 console by simply downloading the official app and having a compatible controller to hand.

And gamers won’t have to wait long before finding out what is being planned for this year, as Sony is expected to reveal its PS Now games list for this month on Tuesday, January 5, 2020.

This will be on the same day that the new PS Plus free games will be released and made available to download by Sony.
