Hailey Bieber says the ocean is the key to her great skin after suffering from Perioral dermatitis

Hailey Bieber has insisted that the ocean is the key to her great skin.

The 24-year-old model credits her glowing complexion to spending time at the beach but she is also a fan of clean beauty products.

‘My skin feels the best when I’ve been in the ocean. Salt water is the best skin healer for me, and I’ve found that nature can be the most soothing for my sensitive skin,’ the blonde best friend of Kendall Jenner told HarpersBazaar.com on Tuesday.

‘My beauty philosophy is finding clean and nourishing products with ingredients from the Earth that are backed by science. I’ve recently discovered this whole world of natural beauty that I love,’ she added.

Hailey used the Covid-19 lockdown as a chance to experiment with her skincare.

The Versace model said: ‘After the stay-at-home order took place, I started testing out different face masks and indulging in facial massage.

‘I work with a massage therapist in LA who has taught me a lot about Gua Sha and I’m a big believer in facial massage to keep the skin looking fresh and young. It also feels so luxurious,’ added the Guess model.

‘I love to be able to like sweat in a steam and then follow it with cold water, especially during the flu season or if you feel a cold coming on. It’s a good stress-reliever too.’ 

This comes after she shared in April that she suffers from a skin problem, Perioral dermatitis – an inflammatory rash around the mouth – and prefers to use minimal ingredients and products on her face to help ease her condition.

And the blonde also said her husband Justin Bieber battles adult acne.

‘I have Perioral dermatitis, so certain products irritate my skin, giving me a horrible itchy rash around my mouth and eyes,’ she told Glamour.

‘I always try to avoid fragrance in products as it’s too much on the skin. However, I don’t always know what’s being put on my skin as I work with lots of different make-up artists.’

Instead, Hailey sticks to a few beauty products to help clear away any impurities in her skin.

She said: ‘I don’t like a lot of steps as I don’t usually have the time.

‘I start with cleansing and washing, then putting on a serum and moisturiser. If I have more time at night, I’ll put on a face mask or extra moisturiser.’

But the model admitted that travelling impacts her schedule and dries out her skin.

She added: ‘I never sleep with my make-up on, even at my drunkest I’ve never fallen asleep with make-up on my face.

‘Sleep and rest is so important for the skin. If I’m working and travelling a lot and my sleep schedule is off I notice my skin gets really dry.’

She also said Justin has skin issues: ‘Justin has struggled with adult acne. After he works out he uses clarifying pads to wipe the skin after he’s been sweating.’

Meanwhile, Justin is gearing up for a huge NY Eve’s gig, a global livestream. This will be his first full shows since 2017.

It’s a globally streamed, ticketed event.
