Celebrity favourite rehab chain The Priory Group is sold to Dutch private equity firm for £1.1bn
Rehab chain The Priory Group, famous for treating celebrities from Robbie Williams to model Lady Isabella Hervey, has been snapped up by a Dutch private equity firm for £1.1billion.
The group, which specialises in treating drink and drug addictions, has looked after business figures like Antonio Horta- Osorio, the departing Lloyds Bank boss, who stayed there, recovering from insomnia and exhaustion.
Private equity firm Waterland yesterday bought it for less than the £1.3billion Acadia paid for it five years ago.

The chain has several NHS contracts to run mental heath services, and was fined £300,000 last year after a 14- year-old girl with a history of suicide bids was found dead in her room.
A judge found it had failed its duty to ensure people were not exposed to health and safety risks.
The Priory has 450 clinics, and treats 30,000 patients a year.
Waterland plans to combine the business with German chain Median.
