PSG’s interest comes in the wake of Serie A leaders AC Milan’s, with Palace now braced for a January transfer tug of war.

He has frequently been linked with a move away from the club but Eagles boss Roy Hodgson has spoken openly of his eagerness to retain Zaha, who is under contract until 2023.

The Ivorian signed a bumper five-year deal in 2018 meaning he still has nearly three years remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park.

Speaking after Zaha fired a volley past Leicester on Monday, Hodgson said: ‘He is getting a lot of praise and it is fully deserved.

‘We are pleased with the effort and desire he is showing. He is an exceptionally good player.’

Zaha was forced to defend his approach on Monday night after clashing with Leicester’s James Justin, just days after Aston Villa defender Tryone Mings was sent off for an incident involving the Ivory Coast international.

He said: ‘It’s just passion I play with. People may see it as anger but I have passion, I love what I do.

‘The way we worked today I’m definitely happy and we’ll take that going into the new year.’
