Her friends and neighbours decided to rally together for the special occasion and treat her to a socially distanced celebration.

They organised a huge procession of more than 100 cars to drive past her house and wish her a happy birthday.

A team of bagpipers led the procession before the cars drove past, with drivers waving flags and honking their horns.

Sean Molloy, 50, who filmed the event, said: ‘She’s reared her whole family in the village, she’s lived here all her life. That’s where she was born, in that house.

‘It was a very important day for the village to recognise it, but we can’t have celebrations like everywhere else, so some members of the village organised a drive by for her birthday.

‘I would say there was about 130 cars and most cars were full of children and everything, there must have been 4-500 people all together.

‘I enjoyed it, it was an amazing scene – especially in the day, every place in Europe was getting bad news yesterday and we were no different here, but it was a little light of joy in what would otherwise have been a fairly depressing Christmas.

‘I can’t believe all the shares and messages that have been coming in from all over the world, this was a small glimmer of joys in peoples lives.’
